The genre of the film will be Drama as it more serious that focuses on real life emotional issues/struggles that could occur.
Draft title :
The title of the film will be called 'Social Media Kills' as it will be about cyberbullying through the use of Social media such as Facebook and Instagram.
Brief summary of plot :
A typical teenage girl who lives her life out online, and is cyberbullyed by an anonymous person.
Opening ( In what way, how much and how quickly will you show the audience about the genre, setting, situation and characters of your film? ) :
The opening starts with A regular teen (who isn't the most confident) going to high school (Secondary School) and decided that she would post a picture of her self when she got home as it was a the end of the week. To caption this she wrote 'Hell Yeah, Schools Finished' and so during the weekend there were beginning to show comments from the other students saying; 'LOL', 'Your Pathetic', 'You slut' and all she thought that they were just some comments but then when she went back to school the following Monday everything started going downhill as people were becoming so rude to her, some of what were behind her back as she was heading to the next class other were insulting her right in the face saying some of the meanest comments she could possibly hear. I have done this to show how quickly a situation can arise from a little image posted online. I wanted the audience to quickly realise that the internet isn't as safe of a place that everyone thinks it is.
Ending what happens at the end ? open or closed ending ?
The ending of the film will be that the girl tries to commit suicide and is rescued by her parents after finding out what has happened. The parents then try and go to the police to try and track the people who wrote all the mean comments but then later realise that the police can't do anything as they don't have the obligations to do anything such as arresting them but with the girl, she is sent to rehab to recover and is given medication to calm her down. This film would be a open ending as it will show everything being resolved in the end and the family moving to a different place.
Single or multistrand narrative ?
The film will be a Single Strand as we get introduced to a small amount of characters within the film to make it more personal and so that people can reflect and understand the character.
