Diegetic: Digetic sound is sound that can be heard in  the scene such as a Radio in a car

Non-diegetic: Sounds that wouldn't really be in the scene.
Mood: The feeling that the music sets within a scene.

Genre: The category the music would be.

Tone: How heavy, soft, warm, cold the sounds are.
Score: A live music sequence that carries on throughout the film 

Functional dialogue: Dialogue that is used to help with narrative.
Naturalistic: Dialogue that is realistic between characters.

Anti-naturalistic sound effects: Dialogue that isn't realistic.
Establishing Sound: Sounds that set the scene, to let you know where you are.
Ambient sound: Surrounding/Nature Sound 
Synchronous: When you can see the cause of a sound.

Non-synchronous sound effects:  When you hear a sound but don't see the cause of it. 
Foley effects: Sound effects that have been created naturally.
Hyper-reality: A sound that is overly exaggerated in a scene.
Sound Bridge: An audio sequence that cross fades with another audio sequence.
Emotional realism: When the sounds match the emotions of a character.
Sound Motif: A recurring theme of sound for a character
