Croydon's population is estimated to be 342,000 which is the 2nd most populated borough in London. Out of the 342,000 people, there are 15,000 people who are aged 15 or under. If croydon were to be a city it would be 8th largest in the UK.

By the summer of 2016, 2 new shopping/ living areas will be complete. One of which is Boxpark which will be located near East Croydon Station. This will bring a lot more people into croydon and so there will be an increase in not only the amount of visitors croydon has but also residential places such as the Ruskin which will be used as Homes, Offices and shops where people will be able to buy stuff.

Apart from the Boxpark and the Ruskin Square, Croydon are also planning and building a new Westfield shopping centre. This will attract many more people into croydon and will make the current croydon residents a better and more modern place to shop at.
