The Wire is a serial drama tv show that is realist which means that it is set and told in the real world with features and mis-en-scenes from the real world, whether its a crime scene or the police department. The opening of the series start of with a prologue of a criminal and a police talking to each other in a crime scene. The series is multi-strand which means we get introduced to multiple of people throughout the series and this tells us the main characters aren't clear to see. The dialogue within the gangs and the police officers tend to be slang which also tells us that this series is a realist.

Spaced is a series Sitcom tv show which is set in the real world but has features of a anti-realist because of the flashbacks it has throughout the series. The series opening about a guy who got dumped by his girlfriend and he has to live on the street until he find a home to live in. Later on within  the series you see another woman who is homeless and searching for a cheap and affordable home. They then become a fake couple in order to get into a home and have to live together. This series has features of non-linear elements such as flashbacks. The tv show isn't as spaced out as the wire as we get to know who the main characters are and plot of the show, however it jokes about when the two characters meet as they only introduce themselves later on the show. The show is a single strand which means that we get to know most of the main character within the first episode.
